Purpose of Home Fellowship Group Meetings

What is a Home Fellowship Group?

Home Fellowship Groups (HFG) are small sections or “gatherings” of the Church that are strategically located in different parts of Lusaka.

These groups are not churches but provide an opportunity for church members and those associated with Lusaka Baptist Church to meet in smaller numbers (usually in a home) and have fellowship in the course of the week.

The number of people in a HFG varies from one group to another. On average, there are 10 to 20 people per group. These groupings are very biblical and very helpful in building up Christians and also witnessing to unbelievers .

In general, each HFG has a four major objectives
Systematic Study of God’s Word
Consistent Prayer times
Evangelism in the neighborhood
Regular edifying home visitations.

You are strongly encouraged to join a group nearest to your home. Currently, most of the groups are studying the subject of Christian discipline which deals aspects such as personal discipline, interpersonal discipline and church discipline. See Elders or Deacons for more details.

BENEFITS OF ATTENDING HFG

Each individual is able to relate to others in their group at a closer and more personal level for the purposes of growth, love, care and in fellowship
Each individual will learn together with others what God is saying to the church and would be able to pray more intelligently for the church and be of one mind with regard to doctrine and purpose.
Each individual will have the chance of exercising and developing their God given gifts and talents.
Each individual can participate in Evangelism in their various location and thus spread the gospel of Jesus Christ within the neighbourhood. Continued Next Page
