Sunday School for Women? - It is sad but true that in many evangelical churches the Sunday School has been looked down upon as an orphan ministry, a form of nanny environment for the children to bide their time while they waited for "BIG CHURCH" to finish. Worse still others have considered it as below men to participate in Sunday School work as it was a womans place to look after and teach children.

Many men and women, however, who have been involved in real evangelistic Sunday school work have testified that there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the Lord saving children in their early years who continue on to become "GOOD STEWARDS" of the Lord Jesus Christ in later years.

The Holy Scriptures - Remembering that it is still The Lord Jesus that speaks to us from His Word the books of Deuteronomy, Proverbs, Matthew and Ephesians have much to say about the gospel and young children. It is for this reason that Lusaka Baptist Church has over the years recently felt the great need to pray for and minister to Sunday school children. Further more the church has endeavored to encourage its members both men and women to consider participating in Sunday school work in various capacities.

Through the Ranks - If it is of any encouragement to those considering Sunday school work dare we mention that many of our past and present members where once Sunday school attendees who have given their lives to the Lord while young and have in later years been involved in Christian ministry at LBC and other churches elsewhere.

Teachers Helps - There are not that many books about for Sunday school teachers that provide a holistic evangelical approach to the urgent and important task of winning young souls for the Lord Jesus Christ. Some helps may however be found from several sources including WAKEMAN TRUST.

Sunday School -At Lusaka Baptist Church Sunday school is taken seriously and is considered a central ministry in the faith and life of the church. We take as our pattern the Lord Jesus Christ's admonition not to prevent such as children from hearing the gospel and laying a hold on salvation. to LBC which is off LUBU ROAD. Senior YP

The Lord Jesus and Children - The Lord Jesus Christ is observed in many portions of the scriptures to labour the point that the gospel is not only for adult men and women but also for children. Both old and new testaments are awash with scripture that emphasises the need for children to be taught the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. In some places of scripture there is a promise of a blessing upon the generation that declares the gospel to little ones and a curse upon that which mislead children concerning Gods word.
